NEW Passive Carbon Filter for Mercaptan Odor Removal
GPL Odorizers released the new GPL Passive Filter, an activated carbon filter for mercaptan odor removal from odorant or odorized natural gas, propane, biogas, RNG, and CNG.
Activated Carbon Filter for Mercaptan
The GPL Passive Filter removes mercaptan odor without electricity through activated carbon filtration from odorant or odorized gas bleed lines or vents. It excels when there is a need to remove odorant from vented gas to prevent false leak-call complaints. Because of their straightforward installation and operation, they are becoming a favorite solution at odorization stations.
Yet, the filter is also ideal when a technician handles odorants, such as during equipment decommissioning, maintenance, installation, and odorant transfers.
Particulars on the GPL Passive Filter
The unit comes in 15- and 30-gallon sizes and is easy to operate and install.
- Mitigate industrial odor problems
- Odorant storage vessel gas venting
- Venting actuation gas for odorizer operation
- Odorant refill
- Odorization equipment failure
- Odorization maintenance
- Decommissioning odorization equipment
- Installation of new odorization systems
How does it operate?
The passive filter media is within a self-contained polyethylene drum. The gas flows through the filter when the user connects their equipment venting mercaptan to the drum through a ¼” FNPT connection. The odorless gas is released into the atmosphere through the bung (vent) on the top when experiencing differential pressure.
No electricity is required. It’s that simple and can remove other odors from vents, not just mercaptan.
