Gasket Strainer Quad Ring Options
IMAC Systems has expanded its flange gasket strainer line from its standard Garlock Blue Guard 3000 to include phenolic and G10/G11 quad-ring seal strainers.
Natural Gas Strainers
Natural gas strainers serve as an inexpensive way to protect downstream equipment and processes from pipeline debris such as weld slag, dirt, PTFE, rust, scale, jointing compound, and other foreign matter. We offer various styles and sizes for inline strainers, such as T strainers, gasket strainers, and temporary strainers (witches hat strainer, cone strainer, plate strainer, and basket strainer).
Blue Guard Gasket Strainer
A longtime favorite is the IMAC “Blue,” a Blue-Guard 3000 wafer-style strainer that also functions as a stainless-steel gasket. The strainer conveniently installs between two flanges and offers a highly effective and inexpensive way to protect gas meters, valves, pumps, and any other mechanical equipment requiring protection from dirty gas. The “Blue” strainer offers superior quality, functionality, and an economical price.
IMAC Systems has manufactured this original “Blue” for over twenty years and encourages potential buyers not to confuse this product with similar strainers. If it isn’t marked “IMAC Systems,” it’s a knock-off and doesn’t include IMAC’s proprietary design to reduce the chance of blow-by.
IMAC Systems also sells standalone gaskets, and both the gaskets and mesh gasket strainers are readily available.

Quad-Ring Gasket with Screen
While the Garlock Blue Guard gasket is superior, for those utilities that standardized on the quad ring seal (X-rings), IMAC Systems has added two quad-ring style gasket strainers.
G10/G11 Quad Ring Gasket Strainer
IMAC Systems manufactures the G10/G11 gasket using a high-pressure fiberglass laminate with a quad ring seal. The gasket strainers are available from ¾” up to 12″. They are also available in various mesh sizes (20 through 120 mesh) with 40 and 60 mesh standard. Like the “Blue,” the G10/G11 is most commonly used in front of regulators, rotary meters, or valves. The G10/G11 quad ring gasket is similar to the Dresser OEM product and competes against the brand name LineBacker gasket.
The G10/G11 quad ring gasket strainer is available in different sealing materials; nitrile or Buna-N is standard (neoprene, Viton™, PTFE, and EPDM optional). The gasket thickness standard is 1/4″ thick. These gasket strainers, as well as loose standalone gaskets, are quickly available.
The strainers are available in type E gaskets (full-faced with the same outside diameter as the flange and precision cut bolt holes) or type F gaskets (made to fit the raised face portion of the flange).
Phenolic Quad Ring Gasket Strainer
IMAC Systems also offers phenolic gasket strainers with a quad ring seal and similar specs as the G10/G11. The phenolic quad ring gasket strainers are less expensive than the G10. A word of caution with these is that they absorb moisture more quickly, impacting the insulating characteristics. However, for strainer applications (non-isolation), this does not hinder the screen gasket performance.
